Radio Broadcasting
In February 2004, I began my radio career in Knoxville, IA at KRLS 92.1 FM; a successful small market radio station. While I enjoyed the opportunity to take on many roles at KRLS, I continued to seek out greater challenges. An opportunity presented itself at KOKZ Cool 105.7 FM in Waterloo, IA; a top rated station. During my time at KOKZ as the evening on-air personality, my creative abilities were allowed to soar. Combined with additional industry experience, NRG Media selected me to be a part of their team in Sioux City, IA at KKYY Y101.3 FM. Initially utilized as the mid-day host, I was quickly moved to the Afternoon Drive slot. A year later, I held the positions of Assistant Program, Production, Public Service and Continuity Director as well as being active in station imaging.
At the end of 2006, NRG Media sold to Powell Broadcasting and I was brought on board with enthusiasm to the number one rated heritage country radio station in Sioux City, IA; KSUX 105.7 FM. New responsibilities included holding the mid-day time slot, Assistant Production Director, Imaging Director and the production of the PSA program Saturday mornings.
In October of 2007, my road and the radio trek brought me to Sioux Falls, SD and on board with Backyard Broadcasting and a team of radio professionals who have passion for the industry and know how to have "FUN!"
Taking on the new role as the co-host of the Lite 92.5 KELO-FM Morning Show along side a seasoned and talented pro; Tom Mitchell (Gjerdrum) brought a new sense of radio bliss to a career that has been thrilling me since the beginning of 2004 when my radio career took it's first steps.
In October of 2010, I found myself moving to South Florida to work for CBS Radio and joining "The Jeff Elliott in the Morning Show," on South Florida Country...107.9 WIRK. Working along side the pros of Jeff Elliott, Bill Adams and Tiny has been beyond rewarding, thrilling and fun as we truly feel like a famiy together on our highly successful show.
My passion for radio goes beyond the studio as I am an active member of the community and often requested to host station and community events in South Florida.
Experienced in Adobe, SAW, Dalet, Smart Touch, NexGen and Scott Studios, my versatility and dedication has opened many doors in the largely sink or swim environment of radio broadcasting. My objective is to maintain a secure, long-term position in a large/major market that allows me to continue to develop and evolve into the best on-air personality I can be and thereby a valued asset for years to come.
